•  International conference “ Information Technologies in Machine-building”, organized by HTP “Hebar” and the Technical University – branch Plovdiv , was held on 6 and 7 October 2003 in Smolyan. The sponsor of the event was the Joint-stock company Corporation “Saedinenie”.

•  “Metalik” Joint-Stock company – Pazardzhik, “Optela – Optical Technologies” Joint-Stock Company and “Unimash” Joint-Stock company, which are filial companies of Corporation “Saedinenie”, took part in this year's International Technical Fair “Autumn 2003” ( in section “Machine-building”).

•  The 8^th International Conference and the 3^rd International Symposium in Lazar and Lazar-informational Technologies ILLA/LTL'2003 under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria were held in Smolyan from 27 September to 1 October 2003. 180 scientists from 25 countries, among them some of the most prominent specialists in this high-technology area, took part in the both scientific events, which were held together for the first time. The organizers of the forum are the Russian Science Academy , Bulgarian Science Academy , “Optela – Optical Technologies” Joint-stock company and Corporation “Saedinenie” Joint-stock company, which is the main sponsor.
